I've noticed just recently that whenever I write one of my characters, Robyn Walshe, she has this constant in-brain running commentary that comes out all over the page in italics. Whatever she's saying or doing or whatever's happening around her, for some reason her brain will pipe up with some comment or other. It amuses me!

Although there was no choice in the matter, Robyn did feel a little bit guilty when she punted the communicator out of the seven-year-old’s hands and went on to tackle her to the wet turf.
